"Founded in 1963, Arvada West High School has a long and proud tradition of serving families in the Arvada community. Located at 64th Avenue and Simms Street, our state-of-the-art campus provides a welcoming environment where approximately 1,900 students in grades nine through twelve learn, grow, and thrive. As a State of Colorado Performance-rated school, Arvada West offers a wide range of academic programs designed to meet the diverse needs of our students, who come from a variety of backgrounds across the city of Arvada, and Jeffco as a whole.
We are committed to preparing students for lifelong success through a well-rounded educational experience rooted in the development of critical thinking, leadership, collaboration, and communication. Students engage in solving real-world problems, leading individually and collectively, working in academically focused teams, and communicating effectively through writing, presentations, and dialogue.
Our academic priorities includes a focus on honors and Advanced Placement courses, preparing students for the rigor of post-secondary learning. Arvada West also offers a robust Career and Technical Education (CTE) program, connecting classroom learning to real-world application through pathways in Multimedia Photography, Network Systems and Security, Theatre Technology, STEM, Business, Woodworking, Water Quality Management, Health Sciences, and Hospitality and Education. These programs provide students with hands-on, work-based experiences that prepare them for both college and high-demand industries.
Arvada West’s commitment to inclusion and opportunity extends beyond academics. Through our alternative education pathways, restorative practices philosophy, and comprehensive support systems, including counselors, community liaisons, and wellness teams, we ensure that every Wildcat has the resources and relationships needed to succeed. With more than 45 student clubs, a full range of CHSAA activity & athletic programs, and countless opportunities for leadership and service, Arvada West is a place where students are empowered to discover their passions, unlock their potential, and make a lasting impact on their community"
