Dear Wildcat Student,
Welcome to Arvada West High School, home of the Wildcats!
Whether you are returning or new to campus, you are now an important part of a proud tradition of excellence! Your time at Arvada West will prove to be both challenging and rewarding as you explore the many opportunities available to you here at our school.
Your enjoyment and success at Arvada West will be dependent on a few very important aspects:

Attendance - We want you here! Your presence in the classroom is the number one thing that you can do to create the conditions for success.

Time Management - Your time matters! I encourage you to develop strong study and time management skills and take advantage of the many supports available to ensure your success. Your teachers and counselors have great strategies for you!

Resilience - We are here to help you adapt and succeed! School can be filled with difficult challenges and experiences. This is when we grow the most! There will be times when you need to find that extra motivation to reach your goals. We are here to lift you up when you need it.

Engagement - Get involved! We work hard to offer a long list of ways that you can be engaged at Arvada West, both in and out of the classroom. Get connected to an activity, sport, group, or club!

Find Your Belonging - Discover your place and people! This is very important to me both professionally and personally. We want all of our Wildcats to have a strong sense of belonging. Any adult in the building is here to help you make sense of this important part of your high school experience.

Advocate - Know what you need and don't hesitate to ask for it! All of us are here to support you. Whether it is safety or science, ask for the help you need.

Be Kind - Kindness is key! This is a very important component of being at Arvada West. We all have different backgrounds, perspectives, and ideas. That is what makes us strong! Embrace each other’s uniqueness and be kind to one another, even through difficult times and disagreements.
