About Ms. Welsh:
Teacher Bio:
This year begins Ms. Welsh's 11th year at Arvada West Senior High School. Ms. Welsh heads the theatre department, sponsors Student Council, teaches speech and debate and directs all the shows at AWest, including the Fall Play and the Spring Musical. Away from school, she enjoys running, hiking, attending her husband's many gigs, and spending time with her brand new baby boy.
Education/Degrees Earned:
Bachelor of Arts: English Education from Colorado State University in 2009
Master of Arts in Theatre Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 2019
Work Experience:
Ms. Welsh started her career at Loveland High School in Loveland, CO. For 2 years, Ms. Welsh taught Read180, English 9, English 10, Pre-AP English 10 and Theatre/Drama and was in the student council sponsor and assistant girls' soccer coach. She then transferred over to Mountain View High School in Loveland, CO where she took on a position as a reading invention specialist and reading skills instructor for one year. Now, at AWHS, Ms. Welsh wears many different "hats" around the building; she splits her time between Theatre and Student Council.
How to Get a Hold of Me: You are always welcome in N100 or down in the theater, as long as I am not teaching. Below is my class schedule. You can email me to organize an in-person or virtual meeting with me during my plan periods as before school (I am not available on Thursday mornings due to mandatory performing arts department meeting.
