FAFSA Completion Workshop

If your senior is planning to attend a postsecondary institution and has not completed the FAFSA, we strongly encourage you to do so. Completing the FAFSA significantly increases the odds that students will continue their education--especially among low income and minority students. If you need help with the FAFSA, please consider attending one of the 3 FAFSA Completion events hosted by Jeffco Public Schools. These events are open to ALL Jeffco students and their families across the district.   Please click the following links to view the event flyers and to RSVP (English and Spanish). Dates and locations are listed below:

  • Saturday, February 29th from 11-2pm, Lakewood High School - 9700 W. 8th Ave Lakewood CO 80215
  • Saturday, March 7th from 11-2pm, Arvada West HS in partnership with & hosted by Red Rocks Community College – Arvada - 10280 W. 55th Avenue Arvada, CO 80002
  • Monday, March 16th from 1-6pm, Arapahoe Community College Jeffco Night - 5900 S. Santa Fe Drive – Bldg M1640 Littleton, CO 80120

If you are unable to attend one of these events or have questions about the FAFSA, please contact your student’s counselor.

THE WHY: Studies show that 90 percent of high school seniors who complete FAFSA attend college directly after high school, compared to just 55 percent of seniors who do not complete.  Only 48% of Colorado high school seniors completed the form last year.  Jeffco was slightly above the state average at 49.4%.  The FAFSA is a student's ticket to receiving scholarships, grants and work studies.
