“Greek Paradise” Homecoming dance is Saturday, September 28.  Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased through your Jeffco Connect student fee account.  Print a receipt or screen shot for quick entry into the dance. If you are bringing a guest who is not an AWest student you need a dance permission form.  Pick one up in the Main Office or on our website.

Need some purple spirit wear?  Purple Pride Sale will be here Thursday from 9:30am-1:30pm.  Stop by and get some purple to wear to the game!

Just a reminder - Spanish Honor Society meeting today after school in Mrs Dill’s room.  Applications for Spanish Honor Society for new members are due this Friday. Spanish Club meets on Friday mornings in west 231.

Do you have extra backpacks lying around? Great!! NHS needs them! All through September, NHS is partnering with Impact, a non-profit group in Denver that provides a free clothing store for people in need.  Bring your backpacks and drop them off in the box outside the front office. 

Juniors and seniors - college visits - Tuesday, September 17 - Grand Canyon University at 9:50.  Wednesday, September 18 - Western Colorado University at 11:45 and Colorado Mountain College at 12:50.  Sign up on Naviance.

Attention all juniors.  On Wednesday, October 16 all juniors will be taking the practice SAT.  You have the option to take the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test in its place.  The National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a part of the SAT Suite of assessments enters all who take it to an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.


Sophomores you also have the option of signing up to take the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test on October 16.  For you, the test enters you into a college database where your scores allow you access to mailing lists and scholarships.  


If you are an 11th or 10th grader and are interested in signing up for the test, please stop by the counseling office and register BY Monday, September 30.  The cost of the test is $20.

The Gay Straight Alliance  meets today after school in W220.  All are welcome.

11th and 12th graders if you are leaving campus make sure you have your ID with you. If you do not have your ID then you will not be allowed off-campus.  Reminder to 9th and 10th graders. It is a closed campus for you. You are not allowed to leave campus.

City of Arvada that they will be fixing the sidewalks on Quail Street, by our football field, from September 19 thru September 21. There will be no parking on Quail St. on those days. Cars will be ticketed and towed during these dates.

Tickets are now available to Arvada West Theatre Company’s production of “Peter and the Starcatcher”. Tickets are $8 in advance and can be purchased at See Ms. Welsh with any questions. 

Congratulations to the Cross Country Team!  At Friday’s Arvada West Wildcat Invite, the boys varsity team placed 1st.  The team was led by junior Dominic Danborn who placed 4th in a time of 16:06.  The boys JV team placed 3rd, and was led by sophomore Toler Wilson in a time of 18:42.  Way to Go Cats! A huge thank you to Mr. Karlsson for being our lead bike at the meet!  You rock!
